Dear Ingrid Paddy and Simone, how I dreaded writing this, so difficult to put it into words how much we'll miss him.
Said met Pete at Liverpool University where they shared halls, from what I gather he enjoyed Said's cooking for him and his group a lot ! Peter was such a great man with a Northern sense of humour! When Said and I married he was the obvious choice to be our Best Man who performed his duties with diligence and humour... He came with us on part of our great trip overland to Iran, he joined us in Paris and we went all through France ,Italy, Yugoslavia leaving us at the border of Turkey, we had hoped to drive through Greece, but they were at war with Turkey and so it didn't seem like a good idea! We met on many occasions when we returned to England and were very lucky to visit them in Hong Kong, and they usually managed a quick visit to us in the Midlands with his family whenever they were over. We visited them in their lovely house in their village in Germany where Peter was the only Englishman there I think! After his accident we continued to visit and were totally amazed how he managed to be so strong and interested in everything around him, and his Christmas letters were the highlight of our family's Christmas! So full of information and news, he was still Pete that we knew and loved! Our real BEST MAN. Our hearts are with the whole of family, Ingrid you were amazing throughout and now he is at rest.
