To dear Ingrid, Paddy & Simone, and to Werner - we were so sad to hear of your sudden loss of dear brave stalwart Pete. What an example of continuous courage he has been to us all over the last ten years. And before that. I remember first meeting him and Ingrid in Hong Kong in the mid nineteen-eighties, when Werner turned up as my first-ever German student of English in my creative writing course at HKU & we've been firm friends ever since. He took me to meet Pete & Ingrid & celebrate with dinner together... the view from their skyscraper apartment was superb, as expansive as Pete's view of the world, & their hospitality as generous as their interest in others. What a loyal & closely-knit family. Dear Pete, we will always remember you & your example to keep on being positive and interested in life no matter what. Thankyou so much. 🙏
